 CSPCA Charitable Trust
The Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, Inc. formed the CSPCA Charitable Trust
in 1995 for the express purpose of funding research into the health
problems of the Chinese Shar-Pei breed. Shortly after that the CSPCA
became involved in the formation of the AKC Canine Health Foundation.
These two groups work together with the CSPCA Charitable Trust funding
projects supported by the AKC Canine Health Foundation which helps the
Shar-Pei breed and also funding independent research to help out breed.
The main focus has been the development of a blood test to identify
carriers of the gene for Familial Shar-Pei Fever (FSF). Research has been
disappointing, but is ongoing. New projects will be directed towards mast
cell cancer.
The CSPCA Charitable Trust needs your support through donations to
continue vital research projects. Your donation is tax deductible.
For a donation of $50 or more you will receive a special
sterling silver Shar-Pei Gaurdian Angel Pin and for a donation of
$250 or more you will receive a 14k Gold Angel Pin. If you
